It was a challenging capture due to the density of the bush. I used water to get it to move. The snake did move towards the edge of the plant. Yearling speckled rattlesnake from last year‘s newborns found on side of house approximately two hours after a very tall and old Yucca tree fell down in neighbors yard. After inspecting the Yucca tree, roots were completely rotted causing the tree to fall over, but before the tree fell over it seems that there were many hollow pockets between tree roots and under the tree. I suspect that the speckled rattlesnake was living within the rotting roots of the tree, and came out when the tree fell over. The first rattlesnake that homeowners have seen on the property |

He said it tried one hole and another gophersnake came out and bit it’s tail so it left to another hole. I put water in the hole and eventually it’s head poked out. Fast forward three hours later. I eventually caught the gophersnake the guy saw but watering out the other hole I discovered two more gophersnakes and they would poke their heads out but would not come out. The yard is surrounded by farm fields and he has some chickens on his property as well. |
