Tucson 85745 None Customer called about wanting inspection and fencing estimate. This morning a snake was found in backyard near door so she wanted us to look for active snake along with giving advice on how to reduce snake activity in yard. She had a perimeter wall with many breaches throughout fenced area. I did find 2 pack rats. 1 in backyard and one behind fence. She also had a lot of different large over grown plants and large rock wall. All near each other. I explained trimming up plants and reducing shade will help. I also explained that she should probably have pest control assist with all of the active rodents she had. She is interested in fencing. Once she looked at picture of a few common snakes found around the area she thought the snake from the morning was possibly a gophersnake. But without picture or confirmation she was told to stay cautious in case of rattlesnake. End of report.

Tucson 85745 Sonoran Gophersnake Called out for a Western Diamondback that went under a deck. Surveyed the situation and headed back to the car for my boots and a flashlight and found a 54" Sonoran Gopher snake on the crawl. Could not find the diamondback. Called back out around 7 pm as the resident spotted the diamondback coiled in a stump beneath the deck, but it unfortunately crawled away, deeper beneath the deck, just before I arrived. Fence job consists of 3 gates that need to be secured. I noticed no other ground level entry points, although vegetation most likely allows climbing snakes entry. Contact by phone for referrals.

Tucson 85745 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake In 10 years customer has not seen a snake in their backyard. This one was no different as it was near the front porch. There is existing fencing in the back, but there are numerous entry points especially for younger snakes. The job is incomplete as there is access to the back from the front. It is my belief that this customer has a false sense of a secure and safe back yard area.

Tucson 85745 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake x 2 Two Western Diamondbacks, 33" 8c and 31" 7b. In a back yard that had snake fencing. Third snake in the protected back in the last month. One other I rescued was stuck in a glue trap in the garage on the day they moved in. No obvious entry points into the back, as even the one gate was secure. A couple of different contractors have recently left the gate open, and this could have possibly been the time of entry. I also suggested the trimming and or removal of a couple of Oleanders and they are tall with branches resting on top of the wall. This too could have been the entry point.

Tucson 85745 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Customer called inquiring inspection because 2 of his dogs were bitten sometime last night or this morning. He wanted advice how to slow down snake populations and also search for snake that bit the dogs. The house was on 1 and a half acres. I was able to cover it all. The plants were all well kept up and trimmed. Some of the drip systems were broken so he planned on fixing them. He was not interested in fencing and preferred to kill any rattlesnake he would see. He refused to listen to any and all educational points behind the conservation behind snakes. I did find a freshly killed snake presumably from the dogs that had killed a rattlesnake the same way a month before. He also told me his pest control company was going to come and put snake repellent down. I told him it was a waste of money. He still wanted them to do so even after I told him how they don’t work.
