Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner noticed a little rattlesnake coiled up on some cement in her back yard. Two weeks ago she had a little rattlesnake coiled by her front door and she thought it had left. After getting the rattlesnake she saw I was looking around and under a pot in the side yard I found another baby rattlesnake. This one looked like the one she saw by her front door a few weeks ago. She has some desert by her and a lot of new construction in what was good desert habitat. She has a block fence with a gate.

Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowner saw 2 western diamondbacks mating on the side of his house where a gap under the gate was the likely entrance point. Upon arrival, the snakes had moved under boxes of leftover tiles but had separated from each other. I was able to easily grab the male but the female worked her way up between the house and the tiles and had to be pushed out with my hook. They were bucketed and released into some large boulders up a hillside.

10:30 PM
Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received call from an assisted living facility I had visited in August 2023. Customer stated there was a baby rattlesnake in the back of property. When I arrived staff greeted me and checked me into the facility as a contractor. Staff then escorted me to area where snake was. Once outside to a patio where I heard faint rattle of the snake. I observed a juvenile atrox in defensive pose underneath a gas grill. Patio was facing NW towards river bottom. Utilized tongs to capture snake which struck once at tongs. Once bucketed staff asked to take photos and did so from a safe distance. Staff stated that the residents of the facility have been doing a walking club and one was getting extra steps in shortly before they called when they saw the snake near the door to the patio. Staff came out when atrox moved to underneath the grill approximately 15ft away. Performed quick inspection of immediate area and noticed no other snake. I informed staff that I suspected snake came from New River as it borders a little more than half of the property in the north and west sides. The previous snake I relocated from here was a neonate.

Peoria 85383 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake The gentleman saw the snake last night when he was taking the trash out in his back yard. The snake rattled at him. He went to check this morning to see if it was still there and it was. The neighbor had this snake on her front porch a few days ago. This neighborhood is really new with lots of development still happening. The gentleman’s yard did not have any landscaping so the trash can was the only cover. The neighborhood is surrounded by desert that is being developed and some that is not.

Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Rattlesnake on the move he is unsure it’ll stay put. Arrived 25 minutes after call and found adult western diamondback attempting to exit yard after being cornered by homeowner. Upon inspection of snake noticed it was quite skinny and seemed to have some sort of strange discoloration that would not wash off with water. Captured rattlesnake and cleared yard. Made customers aware they would be good candidates for rattlesnake fencing as they are the house on the end of a street next to a natural drainage area

Peoria 85308 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This business is interested in setting up an account. Received a call about a snake in the parking lot of an assisted living facility I’ve been to twice before. Customer stated that staff had eyes in the snake and would keep them there until I arrived. Once on property I was greeted by two staff members standing by a car near the main entrance of the facility which was on the east side of the property. One of the staff members stated when she arrived to work and got out of her car, she unknowingly kicked the snake and initially thought she kicked a stick. She then realized it was a snake which began moving underneath her car. Customer stated snake never rattled. I looked underneath the car and noticed a juvenile atrox with body stretched out and head raised. Snake appeared observant towards me. I utilized hook to bring the snake closer and then utilized tongs to capture. Once tonged snake escaped once and rattled briefly before coiling. Used tongs again to capture and bucketed without incident. Performed a brief inspection of the east side of the property. This was 3rd atrox I have relocated from this property with the previous 2 being juveniles and the first being a neonate. Two have been captured near the front entrance (north east side of property) which is the furthest from open habitat but I suspect snakes are coming from the Agua Fria.

Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received a call from customer stating that their daughter who was at home noticed a diamondback ant their back patio door and ran inside. Customer stated they were not on the property and were currently driving there. Customer text me photo of the snake and I confirmed it was a smaller atrox. Customer stated their daughter was home and to enter through the side yard once there. I arrived at property as customers were and they escorted me out back. Very large backyard on a corner lot. Desert wash runs south and east of property with long fence line facing open habitat. I did initial sweep of backyard without noticing any snake. Upon second pass I moved floor moldings away from stucco wall and noticed small atrox in ambush against stucco wall behind a pump sprayer. Utilized tongs to capture snake. Snake struck at tongs but otherwise captured and bucketed without incident. Snake did not rattle much. Performed another walkthrough inspection of yard. Customers doing some renovation on home and had piles of tiles and other materials around both front and back yard. Pointed these out to customer and provided education on snake behavior and how snakes will seek any space they can as refuge even if the materials had only been laying out for a short time. Pointed out large bougainvillea and lantana at edge of driveway and end of the wall that bordered the east side separating it from a wash. Advised to keep these plants trimmed or get rid of entirely. The wash that bordered the east side of property was strewn with small boulders that lead to a culvert under the street. Pointed tear out to customer as potential areas for snakes to hide/den. Customer inquired about chemical products to keep snakes away. I provided education in how these along with sonic/vibrational products do not work and advised customers to consider fencing. Customers agreed to free fencing quote.

She lives on the edge of the community, with a large expanse of desert to the west, and her yard now has very little vegetation. Her dog was bitten by a rattlesnake last year, and since then she has cleared out most of her yard. She put up fencing herself because, she said, her HOA would not allow us to install it. I pointed out the problem areas in her fencing.

Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Sonoran Gophersnake, Kingsnake Rattlesnake coiled by fountain Arrived and was informed by the client that a diamondback was discovered by the fountain repairman, who would not return until the snake was removed. Captured the diamondback fairly easily. Inspected the boulder behind the fountain, which was covered with vines. Found a bush littered with various snake skins. Found a gopher snake hiding in the bush. While attempting to capture the gopher snake, found a kingsnake. Made the customer aware that the bush behind the fountain, on top of a rock in the corner of his yard/house, is not a good idea. The customer is a longstanding client who is very aware that his property is covered in rattlesnakes and rattlesnake habitat and seems to be okay with that.

I searched for more snakes and any possible clue as to how this one got in but could not find either. An urgent help ticket for the fence was then created.

Several years ago, they had a dog that was bitten and unfortunately killed by a rattlesnake, so they were very concerned about the presence of this one. Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was spending time in the backyard with his family and decided to trim up some of the landscaping. He discovered the rattlesnake on the ground under a bush just inches away from where he was trimming. The snake never rattled. It had just eaten something and had a very large belly. The home was near a mountain preserve. The homeowners had attempted to block off the drain holes in the block wall to not let in any rabbits and the snake may not have had an easy escape route after finding its way in.

Peoria 85382 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Rattlesnake in beautiful backyard with an extensive collection of pots, irrigation, planted foliage, and a small pond. Homeowners kept dead leaves on the ground purposely to aid in keeping the ground and plant roots cooler. Lots of opportunities for native wildlife. They luckily did have a block wall surrounding their property. 1 drainage hole noted, one corner where there was a large gap between his neighbor's property and theirs, and 1 side gate that was unsuccessfully blocking snakes out with bricks. They are interested in seeing the cost of snake proofing this property but also may opt to do better with their own DIY efforts. Snake was easily found and relocated. The rest of the backyard was checked and no other snakes found.

He looked over and saw the rattlesnake on top of some boxes up against the garage wall. The garage didn’t have very big gaps not big enough for this snake to squeeze through so it must’ve come in when the door was open at some point. The home had a rocky hillside behind it and a lot of desert just across the street.

Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was surprised to find a very young Western Diamondback coiled up in the middle of her fully enclosed entryway. The snake likely found its way in through a small gap in the weatherstrip under the exterior door. This home was situated near native desert and a large drainage, but was surrounded by homes was several lots deep into the neighborhood. The back yard was heavily landscaped with a water feature and was surrounded on all sides by view fencing making for easy access to the adjacent properties. Peoria 85308 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner first called about a rattlesnake in the house but was able open the front door and let it find it's way out. Not long after they called again. The same snake had found its way into the back yard and was sheltering under some landscaping. From the front door, it was easy to see how the snake could have followed the wall around to a drain hole leading into the backyard. There was a small amount of landscaping and patio furniture for the snake to shelter under, but it was not clear that the snake had over wintered on the property. The homeowner suspects that the snake entered the home when the sliding glass patio door was left slightly open. The house was located near a small mountain with some native desert but was situated deep into the neighborhood with no direct or safe travel route. I searched the rest of the property but did not find any additional snakes.

This home was situated in a typical Peoria neighborhood, with many small drainages running throughout. He told me that he usually gets one or two Gophersnakes per year, but never any rattlesnakes. The snake likely came in through one of the block drains or under the gap under the gate.

Peoria 85383 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake The homeowners called us after seeing a rattlesnake in the shade of a raised wooden planter on the side of their house. After capturing the snake, I checked the rest of the yard for additional snakes but found none. This home in Peoria is near several large rocky hills, but development is quickly encroaching on the native habitat. The yard was very clean with well-groomed landscaping. The best way in or out is from a view fence that overlooks a rocky man-made drainage. The homeowners would like to be contacted about snake fencing.
