I surmise they get here by following the manmade washes that contain some vegetated high ground. I chose one of these for the release point over moving it many miles to find more suitable habitat. Should be an easy fencing job as the yard is almost completely contained. One gate and some drainage holes. Contact by phone for fence referral.

Left the shed and was respotted by customer, but not watched. What should be another simple fencing job as again one gate and a few drainage holes to create a safe area for the pets and children. After being scared, she said the snake rattled and crawled back down a chair to the floor, but did not leave the room. A thorough search failed to turn up the estimated two foot snake. I volunteered to move some stuff out of the room, so that I could move stuff out of the way within the room. After checking and moving every item, I was about to admit defeat when the 35" 8c Western Diamondback suddenly appeared. Must have been hiding beneath an old wooden chest, which was the last item to be moved. Initially didn`t see him, but heard something rustling some plastic. Customer was very happy.

After moving storage bins on ground I was able to find snake. Confirmed it was in fact an atrox. Snake was immediately captured and placed safely in bucket. A few inches behind the head the snake was caught in a large rodent snap-trap. It was released into a pack rat burrow, but is highly unlikely to recover and survive.

So I went in and removed the snake and checked the backyard. As I was walking back out to my car I found another rattlesnake in front of the garage. And as I went to release both of them I found a long-nosed snake. It was an awesome night!

Customer`s back yard is almost totally contained with the exception of the main gate, where there is an entry point. Side gate seems fully sealed and Jill will need to check the drainage holes, but I don`t believe that there are any entry points there.

Todd's wife ran over to find one of the dogs bitten in the face and bleeding profusely. She quickly loaded the dog in the car and took it to the vet, meanwhile Todd called me to come remove the rattlesnake. Unfortunately the neighbors are out on vacation at the moment so they have no idea what happened to their dog.

Offered to release it back into the property since it is Armless and eat rattlesnakes bite the homeowners opted against it. It was taken to the desert nearby and released and the homeowners were given a card to help identify common snakes in the area and differentiate between rattlesnakes and Kings.
