This little Long-nosed Snake was found inside a second-story apartment in Phoenix, which makes its appearance inside a little more impressive. For such a small snake, it had somehow managed to make its way all the way up to the second floor before slipping into the apartment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austin found small gaps on either side of the bottom of the front door, making it pretty clear how the snake had gotten inside once it reached the landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Long-nosed Snake was relocated into a small rodent hole in the surrounding desert. As a bonus, an adult Western Diamondback Rattlesnake was sitting in ambush only about 10 feet from the release site, a good reminder of just how much can be happening in the desert without being immediately obvious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
